9 Days from Tanger Tetouan Fes

Day 1: Tangier

Welcome to Morocco arrive in Tangier by boat or plane and transfer to your hotel in Tangier. Tangier is an ancient port steeped in history, as it is used to protect the entrance to the Mediterranean. It has a very busy Medina and the new city.

Day 2: After Espartel

Here it is possible to see eagles and migratory birds heading off, through Spain or back for the winter. Visit the Grottes d’Hercule just 5km south of the lighthouse at Cape Espartel. According to the legend Hercules rested in the caves after having dug the straights between Europe and Africa.

Day 3: Tetouan

Leaving Tangier, head west along the coast and the mountain road to Ceuta (Ceuta for the locals). There are good views of the sea and it is possible to climb Jebel Musa, facing the Rock of Gibraltar (Jebel Tarik). After lunch, in Tetouan, continue your trip along the coast, passing by the small fishing port of Cabo Negro and then heading towards the mountains to Chefchaouen. This city, founded in 1471, was very isolated until the beginning of the 20th century. At the top of the Rif mountains, Chefchaouen is painted in shades of blue, a precious legacy of the Jewish population that lived there.
