12 Days from Tangier to Merzouga and Marrakech

Day 1: Airport – Tangier:

Arrival and pick up by our guides at the port or airport of Tangier and transfer to the Hotel. Possibility to visit the old Medina. Dinner and accommodation in Tangier according to selected hotel category.

Day 2: Tangier – Meknes – Fes:

After breakfast departure in the direction of Fez, making a stop in Larache to eat. We continue towards the town of Moulay Ismail -Meknes, famous for its monumental Bab Mansour gate and the walls of its city. Arrival in Fez, dinner and accommodation according to selected hotel category.

Day 3: Fez:

Free day in FEZ. As we enter the streets of their medina, we feel that time recedes: the union structure is still present in the work, the narrowness of its streets does not allow other means of transport than the donkeys and a constant tingling of people moves through the labyrinthine streets in the midst of which neighborhoods like the one of the Andalusians and magnificent mosques and Koranic schools will surprise us. Fez has always been associated with study and religiosity, and remains the spiritual capital of Morocco. After visiting the medina another option is to walk aimlessly through the streets of Fez-Jdid, where the royal palace, the mellah and the oldest mosque in Fez are located. Day 4: Fez – Ifrane-Azrou-Monkey Forest-Erfoud-Desert:

After breakfast, departure to Midelt through the mountains and cedar forests of the Middle Atlas. Pass by Ifrane, a charming ski resort and Azrou, an important craft center specializing in cedar wood work. After the Zad Pass (2178m / 7146ft), we will arrive at Midelt for lunch. In the afternoon, we will descend towards Erfoud and Errachidia through the Ziz Valley, dotted with palm trees. Continue to the sand dunes of the Erg Chebbi. Dinner and overnight at a hotel in Merzouga according to the selected riad / hotel category.

Day 5: Merzouga – Khamlia – Rissani – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi desert:

This will be a stage where after breakfast, we will go through another of the tracks used in the ‘Rally Paris-Dakar’, visiting nomads of the desert with whom we will have tea and see the oasis where some movies were filmed as ‘Sahara’, starring by Penélope Cruz. We will visit the town of ‘los negros’, named for the slave trade they brought from the Sudan. And after eating we will change the 4 × 4 traction to the animal traction. The dromedaries will take us to the desert of dunes to contemplate an unforgettable sunset. This night will be special, we will sleep in the dunes in nomad tents, as the Berbers do. Here we will enjoy a Berber dinner, music and a starry sky like you have never seen before. Dinner and accommodation in the unforgettable Haima.

Day 6: Desert Erg Chebbi- Rissani – Gorges of Todra – Gorges of Dades:

We will get up early to climb the dunes before sunrise, a show like no other. An interesting excursion that we can do on foot or by camel. After breakfast we go out again in the 4 × 4 to visit the hammada, where from time to time there are dunes and palm trees, small oases where life takes shape. In just over 2 hours you will reach Tinerhir, the greenest oasis in the south, from where you can access the Todra Gorges. Time for walks through the oasis, contemplating their crops and irrigation systems, and to travel part of the Gorges in a unique way. Dinner and night in a hotel according to selected hotel category.

Day 7: Data Gorges – Data Valley – Valle de los Rosas – Kelaa M ‘Gouna – Skoura – Ouarzazate:

We will continue along the route of the Kasbahs, being able to turn aside to the interior of the Data Valley; We will find some of the most beautiful kasbahs in Skoura. After leaving Ouarzazate back, we will head towards Aït Benhaddou, one of the largest kasbahs in the whole South, which has some well-preserved parts thanks to the fact that it has become the scene of many films. We will sleep in a hotel in front of Kasbah, so we can visit it calmly and outside of the hours with the highest number of visitors. Dinner and accommodation in riad / hotel near Kasbah Ait Benhaddou.

Day 8: Ouarzazate – Aït Benhaddou – Marrakech:

The trip is a succession of strengths. The day of today is another one of them. The 200 km that separate Ouarzazate from Marrakech run through the High Atlas. The road must be crossed quickly, because of its beauty and because it is a mountain port that crosses the Atlas to almost 2,300m. To round out the spectacular daylight, we will take the path following the old caravan route linking the two cities through the Valley of Ounila, where there are kasbahs built in caves and that will also take us to that of Telouet. Finally, arriving in Marrakech. Accommodation in a riad / hotel according to the category of hotel selected.

Day 9: Marrakech:

Free day in Marrakech, city famous for its Jemaa el Fna square, which will occupy much of our time: an amalgam of aromas, sounds and unrepeatable sensations. The city also has countless places to wander and enjoy: Majorelle Gardens, Menara, Saadian Tombs, walks through the Medina or Mellah, the route of the walls, the modern city (Gueliz) with your western ways of life. Dinner and accommodation according to hotel category / riad selected.

Day 10: Marrakech – Casablanca:

Breakfast and departure to Casablanca, Morocco’s economic capital and mythical city on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, fascinating architecture. We will visit its famous La Corniche beach area and the Hassan II mosque, the second largest mosque in the world after Mecca. Dinner and accommodation according to the category of hotel selected.

Day 11: Casablanca – Rabat – Asilah:

Breakfast and departure to Rabat, visit to the capital of Morocco, the Royal Palace, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, the Hassan Tower, Kasbah Oudaya, etc. In the afternoon we will continue to the town of Asilah to visit its beautiful white Medina. Dinner and accommodation according to the category of hotel selected.

Day 12: Asilah – Tangier:

Breakfast and transfer to the Port or Airport according to flight or boat schedule in Tangier. End of our services.
